Dear friend,
We are fine! In some moments we are well adapted, but,
sometimes we feel that we are still adapting. We have known places (like
Chicago which is awesome!) And people who have blessed us so much (like our
neighbors Tom and Cathy).
Our day by day has been different here. As you know, in
Brazil the rush is great, trips, visits, training, preaching, camp, classes and
more, but here we have established a routine. This is already the fourth week
of Marta’s English classes (Monday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings).
We thank God for this because it is a free course and she was on the waiting
list. God sent that blessing on time. She is also participating in a Bible
study class for women on Tuesday mornings at the church (Very brave! Since she
started that without knowing much English). I go to church on Mondays and
Wednesday mornings. On Wednesday I start 6:30 in the morning! On Tuesdays and
Thursdays I go to the Office of International Steward. On Wednesdays night,
while Marta has class, I attend youth ministry at church.
Our great reason for praise is about Debora. We were praying
for an opportunity to get her more involved with children and learning the language.
We would love to have her in the church preschool program. Unfortunately the cost
was too high for us , but fortunately it was nothing to God! A church family
decided to help pay for school for two days a week. So starting today, Deborah
goes to day care on Mondays and Thursdays (from 9:00am to 6:00pm). On Tuesday
morning and Wednesday night, while Marta is in ELS class, Debora is in the
child care.
On weekends we are involved in a few programs, usually in
Kentwood Community Church, which is our home church here.
We take evenings and free time to be with family, study English,
but also to meet new friends and brothers. It has been a very enjoyable time
with the church.
We have learned a lot about the culture and language, but
also experienced a lot of ministry with youth. We are getting many ideas to
take back to Brazil, but also reinforced something that God has taught us: we
must always give the best we have. If our best is video-games, games, music and
a lot of other things that help to build a pleasant, modern and relaxed environment
to attract people, let’s do it! If our best is just some popcorn, a hug, (I
know Brazilians are much more huggers than Americans! hahaha) and smile to welcome,
so come on, let's do our best! What will really make the difference in the lives
of these young people are the relationships and the teaching and practicing
Bible principles!
1. The faithfulness of our supporters in Brazil;
2 . The house and the car that was lent to us by that time;
3 . KCC. The church has been a blessing to us and to many
here!
4 . The family (that we do not know) that will pay for
Debora go to school twice a week.
We have some prayer requests as well:
1. We desire to increase our financial and spiritual
support, and to have the creativity and wisdom in using the money we receive.
2 . For health. Pray that we do not have any serious problems
in these coming months. My asthma and cough because of the change of seasons
are already attacking me. Please pray!
3 . Pray that Debora feels welcome and able to communicate with
children of her age. It has been a little hard because of the language
difference.
4. Please pray for Word Of Life Southern Brazil. May God continue to use the Bible Club Ministries, Camps and the the Discipleship and Training Center to reach many people there, while we are here!

We believe that God will still do great things here until
February. We pray that we may continue to notice his action and work in our
lives!
Sincerely,
Eduardo, Marta and Debora
